Jao Tsung-I Academy | Jao Tsung-I Cultural Festival 2025: Traversing Time and Change to the Avenue of Sound and Light: 'The Road of Sound and Shadow' Film Screening and Sharing Session
Description
Lecture content
'The Road of Sound and Shadow' is a documentary of reminiscence: Hong Kong Film Award for Professional Spirit Award winner and veteran film critic Lo Ka (affectionately known as Uncle Ka) reminisces about his life and seven decades in the film industry from a first-person perspective, exploring the relationship between arts, culture, and reality in every social incident. After the screening, film critic Lo Ka will have a conversation with Dr. Fan Wing-chung, Senior Lecturer in History at Hong Kong Baptist University, to further discuss from a historical perspective the overlap and intertwining of social changes and Lo Ka's life trajectory.
As a record of Uncle Ka's life, 'The Road of Sound and Shadow' also serves as a testament to social transformation. The film was released in cinemas last year, and now it moves to the Jao Tsung-I Academy for a free public screening. Don't miss it.
